You may have missed some content
Dear Colleagues
I've just found that some emails generated by the site have been "discarded" because a limit on the number of emails sent per hour has been exceeded. As a result a small but significant minority of you will not have been notified of new content or received newsletters over the last 4 or 5 months.
The problem (we have been told!) has now been sorted by our web-hosting firm, but I thought it important to let people know of content they have missed - and particularly because it would seem to be newer members who have missed out and they may be wondering what they signed up to. To the rest of you, who have received all your various notifications and newsletters - apologies as this newsletter is not relevant to you. But there is no easy way for me to sort out receivers from non-receivers.
Forum topics and comments you may have missed
NB - you no longer need to login to view these.
You may have missed forum topiscs or comments on the following:
- landlords insurance
- Flat Conversion Allowances
- Cost of EDMOs and CPOs
- Counting redevelopmnent to provide new homes following demolition of empty homes
If you go to the website you can see these listed under Active Forum Topics on the right hand side of the screen.
New Information Library items you may have missed
NB You will need to login to view these, and in most cases they are only accessible to full paying members.
There have been some major new additions and these are listed on the left-hand side of the site under Recent Library Items.
- Research into EDMOs - Susan Samuels Masters Dissertation including results of a survey of 127 local authorities
- NAEPP Information Paper on Flat Conversion Allowances - a detailed review of the capital allowances for LOTS schemes
- Presentation on Flat Conversion Allowances - an MS Powerpoint presentation on the same subject
- Strategy Toolkit - an analysis of national CTB data on empty homes providing a breakdown that can be compared with local figures on empty homes
Newsletters
The last two major newsletters may have been affected: one in May and one in early August. The latter contains the response of the then Minister Iain Wright to our proposal for a National Empty Homes Initiative. You can find these either on the front page of the site or, better, by selecting Newsletters from the drop-down menu under Information.
(There is also a recent newsletter requesting feedback on the state of your local empty homes initiative. We have only had a few replies to date. Your feedback will help us with lobbying etc).
Best wishes and apologies for any inconvenience. In this case it's a side-effect of a growing and busier community.
David Gibbens
