Here is the latest (updated end of October)  version of our proposals for a National Empty Homes Initiative, now including an introductory word from the Empty Homes Agency.   This will be circulated to the press and relevant agencies.

This is the first edition of A NAEPP Briefing paper that describes the results of an analysis of the published policies of the main political parties in respect of empty homes in the build-up to the 2010 General Election.  It was pubilshed Novermber 2009 and has since been updated. .

Notes: 

This is an evaluation of the impact of measures such as the Flat Conversion Allowance and changes to VAT introduced in the 2001 budget.   The conclusions underscore the need for the kind of integrated and coherent action plan being promotoed by NAEPP eg " "Both of these measures seem to suffer from a low level of awareness with no organisations seemingly championing their use".

NAEPP is credited with its involvement although we did not contribute nearly as much as we would have liked to as we were not consulted on the scope of its contents or format.
